The Intercontinental Hotel is opening January 2008; it is time to

every department including, Food and Beverage Dept., Finance and
Business Dept., Front Office/Guest Services Dept., Rooms Dept., and
Sales and Marketing Dept.

HOTEL HOUSEKEEPING
PROGRAM
The Hotel Housekeeping Program is a 4
weeks training program which will start on September 4th to September
28th, Monday thru Friday, from 2:00pm to 5:00 pm at 288 7th
Street. On Sept. 25, 26, & 27, training will take place in the hotels
for shadowing therefore it will start at 9:00am. For more

WESTFIELD SAN
FRANCISCO RECRUITMENT
SOMEC works closely with several retailers and businesses at the new
Westfield San Francisco Centre. SOMEC hosts Westfield Orientation every
two weeks to inform jobseekers of the current opportunities at the
Centre and the application process. Some of the larger employers that
we work with include: Adidas, Bloomingdales, Borders, Bristol Farms,
Burke Williams, Century Theatres, and H&M. Please call to find out when
our next informational and recruitment session will be held.
NEW RETAIL TRAINING
PROGRAM
In collaboration with Goodwill Industries and JVS, MHH/SOMEC is part of
a new retail training program. SOMEC will conduct our one week Customer
Interaction Training 1-2 times per month for jobseekers interested in
learning or refreshing their customer service skills. The training
includes how to improve communication and listening skills and deliver
high quality customer service. It also focuses on how to interview and
market your self to these employers as well as be successful in this
industry.
After completing the Customer Interaction Training,
there is an opportunity to participate in a six week training that
teaches more details and lessons on being successful in retail.
Participants will learn about career paths in the industry and complete
on the job training in Goodwill stores. There is a chance to meet
employers face to face and learn what they are looking for in a
candidate.
